How Does This Course Work?
This course will consist of 24, in-depth, one-to-one tutorials.
•At the beginning of the tutorial, your tutor will work closely with you to devise a personalised learning plan, aiming to address any gaps in knowledge and strengthen your academic skills in the process.
•To ensure maximum flexibility, you do not have to study the course units sequentially. Instead, you can opt to study them in a different order to the one we have outlined below.
•You will also be able to improve your exam performance and consolidate what you have learnt by doing practice questions with the support of your tutor.

The 24 tutorials for this course will focus on:

Section A (Understanding): Reading
• Practice on an unseen prose factual passage of 150-200 words by short-answer questions and/or T/F and/or vocabulary search and/or any others suitable and efficient tests (for comprehension of noun and verb forms/opposites/synonyms /adjectives/adverb) 1 tutorial
• Practice on an unseen prose discursive passage. 1 tutorial

Section B (Creating): Writing
• Writing a long composition (informal letter) of 80 words, based on lessons 1-4, 7, 8, 10, 12 from the prescribed textbook 2 tutorials
• Writing a 30-35 words short composition (e.g., message, re-arranging a dialogue in logical sequence, completing a text with the help of clues provided) 2 tutorials

Section C (Applications): Grammar
• Understanding the Grammar syllabus [all tenses done in class IX (plus: future antérieur, plus-que-parfait, subjonctif), pronom relatif composé, démonstratifs (adjectifs et pronoms), pronoms personnels, négatifs, possessifs (adjectifs et pronoms), prépositions] 3 tutorials
• Practice by suitable and efficient methods and procedures (e.g., discourse direct et indirect, “trouvez la question") to test all tenses done in class IX (plus: future antérieur, plus-que-parfait, subjonctif), pronom relatif composé, démonstratifs (adjectifs et pronoms), pronoms personnels, négatifs, possessifs (adjectifs et pronoms), prépositions] 3 tutorials

Section D (Remembering and Analysing): Culture and Civilization
